Hey Sugar on Strawberry Hill - Charming Ice Cream & Candy Shop in Kansas City

The ice cream was very good! They had a cool flavor that was sweet corn! My favorite was a raspberry flavored. They had kid friendly toys and books. They also had music going that was very calming. The lady working there was really kind and gave us generous amounts of ice cream! This place is a must visit for anyone in Kansas City.

I love the different variety of ice cream & how they switch up the flavors every once in a while. This trip I got the homemade vanilla and strawberry cheesecake. Both great options, ice cream stays cold for a significant amount of time, with a nice firm consistency. Not too soft, just the right amount of chewyness!

I’m on the Missouri side and almost never drive into KCK so I’ve not been to this area until the other day. When we (myself and three kids) drove by and saw the bubblegum pink building with joyful strawberries, my inner child squealed with delight. How freaking adorable is this place?! They were open by the time we were done with a pottery class we attended at another establishment (review for them on my profile), so we simply had to go inside. The kids got ice creams, I got a milkshake. There is candy galore, they have a play area, and there are a lot of other really cute non-food merch items for sale. Most wonderful is how welcoming and sweet the owner(?) was. I especially love the soda guzzling camel that takes up a large portion of a wall. There are several places to take cute photos and selfies if you’re so inclined.

5 stars isn't enough for the delightful experience I had at Hey Sugar! This charming candy, sweets, and ice cream shop is a must-visit destination for anyone with a sweet tooth. But what truly made my visit exceptional was the outstanding service from my server, Alejandra! Her bright personality and warm smile lit up the entire shop, making me feel like a valued customer from the moment I walked in. Alejandra's attentive and friendly nature made the experience even sweeter (pun intended!). And speaking of sweet, the treats here are TO DIE FOR! From the colorful array of candies to the creamy ice cream flavors, every bite was pure bliss. If you haven't visited Hey Sugar! yet, do yourself a favor and stop by - and ask for Alejandra, she'll take care of you like royalty!

I just had a lovely afternoon date with the hubs today. He took me to Hey Sugar, and we just loved this cute little shop! We had ice cream and Italian sodas (butter pecan ice cream and sweet strawberry soda for him, and lavender honey ice cream and passionfruit juicy soda for me). It was all so good, especially my ice cream! Then we bought some candy to take home. I loved the selection of older types of candy like Pop Rocks and Chick-O-Stick, and the newer candy like the freeze-dried sour bites and Bubble Milk Tea Mochi. The two young people who were working were pleasant and quick, and the store was clean and inviting. We really look forward to returning soon!

Took the kids for icecream. They serve "Another Scoop icecream" local icecream. So good!

Wow! A Candy and Ice Cream that delivers the real deal!! My first time in I devoured a generous single of blueberry cheesecake ice cream. They just are full on joyful!

What a cute little ice cream shoppe! My daughter and I popped over the border of Kansas City, MO, so we could say we made it to Kansas. This quaint spot reminds me of a 50s candy store. Packed full of old school candies and treats, Hey Sugar also had about 16 different flavors of ice cream, including Sweet Corn, which we had to try. They feature floats and shaved ice as well as Agua Frescas. The brightly colored walls and paintings are inviting and fun. There's a corner for the kiddos complete with books and toys. There is indoor seating for about 2 dozen people. We're glad we stopped.
